After all the high winds now is the time to check your fencing. Check your fence line for any loose, wobbly or insecure posts along with damaged panels.
If any posts are loose, one way to secure them is to install a concrete spur post. The spur is concreted in behind the loose post and once set, bolted together. Of course you also have the option of removing the old post and replacing it with a new one. If any posts have snapped it will have to be dug out and replaced. Avoid using metal spike systems if possible.
For closeboard fences (vertical slats) the rails can be cut and the broken post removed, repair brackets are available for re-attaching the rails back onto the new post.
For panel fences, just remove the panel and replace the post. Once the post has set, re-insert the panel. Use screws and not nails to secure the panel, it will make it easier to replace if there are any future repairs required.
